Antagonism

If Christians are paying attention to what’s going on in the Western culture it should not be a surprise to notice that antagonism toward the church is running rampant. For many years even decades we have enjoyed religious freedom.

Back not too long ago neighbors of different faiths could live side by side without any animosity, Atheist on one side of the lot and a Christian on the other had no problems being good neighbors. They just used common sense and agreed to disagree and move on being good neighbors.

Christians in the Western society are definitely not used to being persecuted or been threatened by it.  But slowly, and surely small fringe groups slithered in under the radar and began lobbying politicians for money, recognition and policy changes and it worked. Politicians compromised their integrity for the sake of some votes. It’s like selling your soul to the Devil.

There are warnings in the Bible regarding these times of persecution. Jesus said in John 15,says: “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first”. NIV  and Paul warned us in 2Timothy 3:12 that,” in fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will  suffer and be persecuted”, NLT

Jesus said:  in John 16:33: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” NKJV
